Traded: a Western Cliché - and not a good one

This movie is amazing in that it was even released. Even the most experienced actors recited their lines in a way one would expect of a cast of community theater players. The movie has no real craft to it. The plot is weak, thin, and designed more to shock with violence and gore, rather than intrigue and tempt the viewer with an interesting or clever storyline. To say it is anything other than what it is, is to defame every other halfway decent movie that was ever made. However, as a vehicle for a bunch of wasa wasa country musicians and seldom-used B- grade actors, it fills the bill for attracting a particular audience. It's a movie version of dime western novels.

I literally shot my television

Unbelievably bad writing. Horrible, horrible, horrible acting, worse than amateur grade school acting, saccharine sentimentalism. Ugh. Just pure fukking dreck from start to finish. I gave this film 2 stars instead of one because the mom is a former pretty whore and the daughter (SPOILER) runs off to become a whore and she's really hot. God knows we can always use more whores. But seriously, most of the characters seem like They're half retarded.

Move on past this one boys 'cuz there's much better whore movies to be had. If this film were a person I would punch it in the throat and shove it in front of a train or strangle it in its sleep.

Roger E. Fanter deserves the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor

A low budget western with even less talent. The one-liners are priceless, and I can't remember the last time I heard the term 'snatch' used to reference...well...bonus points for that! The writers truly need to be recognized for their efforts on this script, and the actors for shamelessly bringing it to life. Now, I really am curious if Kris Kristofferson sticks to his actual lines or if he ad-libbed because if it's the latter, I'd like to raise concern for his health, I know he's about 80 in this film so there's the possibility for an onset of early dementia. If he's in fact fine, and I sure hope it's the case, then Kris must have said 'f**k it' because he owed someone a little favor, collected his check, and gave his best performance to the worst character ever created! The writers likely didn't know what to do with Kris' character but were just ecstatic to have Kris in their film, knowing his presence would absolutely liven it up, commanding each viewer to excitedly announce: OH MAN, THAT'S KRIS KRISTOFFERSON! The most believable performance in the film comes from Roger E. Fanter, what a masterful delivery of ingenious lines! I truly believed his character was a dirty old man whose mind is at its whit's end, and he was forever stuck in a 'groundhog day's' routine of simply doing what he's told! Brilliant!!
