Red Dawn It Aint

Lots of these types of movies doing the rounds and not a single one worth a tuppeny toss!

Story was plagiarized from many other films. Totally uninteresting characters and it just seems like another YOOF "THE 100" viewers type of teen action movie (without much action). Its so forgettable there isnt any real point in reviewing any further, just avoid purchasing it or you will be kicking yourself for listening to the many shill reviewers on IMDB.

Dire effort and I usually love Aussie movies - I am actually annoyed at myself for watching it all the way through but my OCD is a real pain in the bum sometimes.

An open Red Dawn rip-off

TOMORROW, WHEN THE WAR BEGAN is another bland young adult film based on a novel which seemingly has no originality whatsoever. A group of teenagers go camping in the woods in Australia when their country is invaded and World War 3 begins. They then fight back, guerrilla-style. Yep, it's the same old story of RED DAWN, that 1980s hit about Russia invading America, playing out yet again and just as insipid as the RED DAWN remake. The acting is fairly weak, aside from an ever-feisty Caitlin Stasey who has grown up a lot since NEIGHBOURS. The endless emoting quickly sours the viewer while the refusal to name the invading countries smacks of political correctness (I'm guessing the coalition is made up of China and North Korea). Worst of all is the bland direction, with nothing you'll remember and nothing to stand out from beginning to end.

I'll never get that time back

Why, in all Australian films to Dune Buggies always have to make an appearance in the chase scenes. In almost every Aussie film sine Mad Max has this happened. The storyline left a lot to be desired. There were certain parts of the movie that were truly cringeworthy. This is a movie definitely aimed at and made by teenagers.
