An unmissable piece of cinema

The Wizard of Oz is the best you could ask of a movie made at the end of the 1930s. It boasts pleasent musical numbers and a production desing that could challenge most of the movies made today, sustained by engaging performances and a creative mind behind the camera. It is widely regarded as a masterpiece or even a perfect movie, and I do see why some would say that.

I do not dislike the movie and I won't deny its achievements and sense of wonder: it is, at the end of the day, a great adaptation that changed cinema forever and helped broadcast the wonderful message within its source material to countless generations. But it does have flaws, like all movies do, and I end up thinking of films I personally consider better than this one. That won't stop me from popping this one to the Blu-ray player on a rainy day to relieve the fabulous journey awaiting Dorothy in the yellow brick road.

My favorite musical of all time.

What a classic! THE WIZARD OF OZ brings back so many memories of when my parents first showed me this beautiful movie and it was great to re-watch it again after a few years. A beautiful movie that starts off perfectly in black and white and then transforms to color as we enter the magical land of oz. The colors are so vibrant and the sounds and musically flow beautifully within this musical and are also extremely catchy as well. The comedic characters such as the scarecrow and Tin-man are hilarious as well. Watching such iconic films for the second or third time such as this one are always so much fun because you know you're going to be able to just sit down and watch a great film and can maybe try and catch those details that you maybe missed the last time you watched it. Those details that act as the foundation for these movies such as the intricate lighting and beautiful colors. This film will forever be one of the most iconic musicals of all time.

A fun and classic musical.

This film is on that I watched all throughout my childhood and it is always good. The transition from sepia to color was always a sight. The songs are classic, and the wicked witch is always creepy. Judy Garland's voice really shines in this film even if her acting is sub par which is understandable. Overall a classic time and time again.
