We have a saying in India

Is there a more iconic comedic prologue than The Party's, with Hrundi Bakshi (Peter Sellers, priceless), a bumbling actor involuntarily, repeatedly sabotaging some kind of schlocky adventure / period piece first by refusing to die, then by showing his wholly anachronistic watch and finally by blowing up the set while trying to tie his shoelaces? Because if there is, I can't think of one at the moment.

The movie belongs to veteran comedy director Blake Edwards and especially to Sellers, who provides an hilarious turn as Bakshi, a sweet, meek individual so clumsy and inclined to disaster, he is essentially the human version of a tornado. Material is droll, but at times so thin that with a lesser lead it would have collapsed - Sellers being who he is, the mere sight of him staring with awkward alarm at a toilet which refuses to stop flushing provokes laughter.

So funny movie...

"The Party" is simply a hilarious movie which is still can be considered funny even if is 50 years old. In this movie we have an Indian actor who makes a disastrous mistake and destroys a whole set of a movie, after that the director of it wants to take revenge by eliminating his options of getting another movie but makes a tremendous mistake by inviting him to his own party.

I really enjoyed this movie and I had a great time. Peter Sellers who plays as Hrundi V. Bakshi makes another hilarious performance, his interpretation is just amazing. I have to mention that I also liked the interpretation of Steve Franken who plays as Levinson (the waiter) and he is simply amazing too. Another good interpretation is made by Claudine Longet who plays as Michele Monet a young woman who wants to be a successful actress. All the credits about this have to go to Blake Edwards who was responsible for the direction of it and obviously he did a great job at it.

Finally I would like to mention that "The Party" is a very good movie which I believe everyone has to watch because I am sure that you will laugh a lot. I strongly recommend it to everyone, just watch it.

What a movie..

A clerical mistake results in a bumbling Indian film star being invited to an exclusive Hollywood party instead of being fired. Blake Edward's The Party is an insane and hilarious comedy that benefits from Peter Seller's incredible comedic talent. The jokes are amazing and hit the floor and made me laugh so much also the actor who plays the waiter was amazing and steals the show sometimes even from Sellers himself. (10/10)
