Simple Old Fashion Horror

A transport plane crashes into the water supply of a small Iowa town. Some of the townfolks become infected and turn crazed killers. Sheriff (Timothy Olyphant), his wife (Radha Mitchell), his deputy (Joe Anderson), and a girl from town (Danielle Panabaker) need to escape not only the crazies, but also the military sent to contain the population.

This is remake of a George A. Romero movie. It's not that complicated. It is a horror movie done classically without the jokey references or overt sexualization. There are no gross out jokes or T&A. It is just simple tense horror done right. The scariest scene has to be the women tied down on the gurneys, and a crazy walks in. If you want simple horror, this is all you need.

The remake that was not

"The Crazies" directed by Breck Eisner and arguably his most competently executed feature to date, follows loosely the George A. Romero's movie from 1973, taking a tricky twist on the zombie horror genre, which had been to spoiled for the years come by the October 2010 releasing "The Walking Dead", where this movie keeps its distance from the approaching menace, almost invisible are the transformations of the infected humans that the leading couple has to encounter, performed respectively as relentless functioning work unit actress Radha Mitchell and Timothy Olyphant, whom's convincing on-screen relationship in extreme situations of terror elevate "The Crazies" to an constant urgency-preaching thriller of 90 minutes worth the watch for genre lovers.

Better then the original!

I have to say this is better then the original because it had lots of jumpscares, the scary theme, best characters and good storyline which makes you want to be glued at. The original was rather grainy, didn't have the story to be excited about and the acting wasn't brilliant tbh. I like the fact it included a sheriff, his wife, his deputy and the neighbour. They did such great teamwork in killing the infected people who act like zombies. Unfortunately the deputy and the neighbour died from the crazies or the police.

At least the couple lived but still it can be upsetting that people are getting killed or accidentally killed because they thought they had the disease. I wish we could see a sequel because this was brilliant to watch!
