A once great franchise raped without any shame or remorse and doing so with a smile by Arnie all the way through.

What is there to say? A quick summery: Everything is over the top. Instead of using one good idea like T1 and T2 they try to cram as many (bad) ideas as possible into one movie.

We get like 4 terminators, 3 time machines, 3 time periods, an app that is about to take over the world, nonstop cheesy one liners, to many 'funny' moments, to many plot twists. Ridiculous characters. A high school princess as Sarah Connor. B-grade acting. Generic action. A senior terminator attempting comedy.

The worst part: it has no tension buildup at all. What made T1 and T2 such great movies was the suspense of being chased by one (not 3) almost completely indestructible machine. That haunting feeling, done so well in the past, is totally missing. Overall it felt more like a poorly executed attempt at comedy with a convoluted mess of a plot.

This is a new low point in the franchise with a terminator named 'pops' saying awkward lines and doing creepy smiles. This is Terminator for the marvel generation. Braindead entertainment at its finest. Sadly a growing trend in Hollywood.

Please tell me this was just a fan made parody and the actual movie is still under development, right?

New ideas built in old movie

After seeing Terminator: Genisys I felt something like deja vu. Film makers came with new ideas, and created a whole new plot. Let's be honest, it's definitely not as good as previous movies, but the way the film proceeds to a viewer is strangely satisfying.

The behavior of the guardian, excellently shown in Terminator 2 is enhanced with more embarrassing moments and genius Schwarzenegger smiles. Sometimes it feels like Arnold Schwarzenegger inspired himself during watching The Big Bang Theory. The similarity to acting like Sheldon Cooper is obvious, guaranteed by long senseless scientific monologues.

As mentioned before, the Genisys takes inspiration from the former Terminator movies. Sarah Connor is however no longer frightened waitress but a brave warrior protected by 'grandpa'. Some may not like the way this film interrupts the previous movies, but I like the concept of making an alternate history with some gamechanging moments.

However, there are some flaws thanks to which I don't rate the film better. Firstly, even it is individual, I don't like Emilia Clarke. Her acting so actually very poor in comparison to other actors, which is even more serious as she plays the main role. The role of a brave warrior does not fit her.

Secondly, the film makers were so interested with the plot line that they created pilot so twisted and unexplained that some things seem irrelevant and impossible to understand. Where the hell did they take the guardian if the first Terminator was supposed to kill Sarah? And if the Judgment Day took place in 1997, how could the world in 2017 look normal? This playing with presence-past-future scenes is very unclear and I tried to understand the meaning of creators instead of enjoying the film.

In conclusion the film takes lighter pace than its ancestors and is not as bad as it may seem. The biggest flaw of the movie is in making new ideas to involve, but in the end just scraping the barrel. 7/10

High Tech Load of Crap

Extremely poor, all-over-the-place story line. Terminator 2 was the last great version of this series. This version was like watching a pinball bouncing randomly from beginning to end.

The potential for a Terminator movie is huge. The flop of this version was as massive as the potential. They zig-zagged through time. The casting was horrible. This is by far the WORST John Connor, Kyle Reese, and Sarah Connor I have ever seen. The men were so in touch wih their feminine side and do not come across as hardened soldiers that have been fighting a war for survival for most of their life. The Sarah Connor wanna-be came across more like the girl next door versus a battle ready heat packing mama-jama.

Writers and directors of this movie simply suck. All they did was focus on special effects and explosions. Everything else was just thrown in as an after thought.
