Luv's best film till date, will watch it again n again!

Luv Ranjan is famous for his so called realistic movies on youth like Pyar Ka Punchnama 1,2 and AakashVaani. This time he has taken a challenge, to show us the fight between girl vs friend!

Sonu (Kartik Aaryan) is a best friend of Titu (Sunny Singh) since school. He has been protective about his friend all the time. After successfully conducted a breakup by Sonu, Titu plans to get settled and finds out Sweety (Nushrat) for arranged marriage. However, Sonu has instincts that she is not the right girl. I am not reviling much, but from trailer it is clear that, it is a fight between boy's best friend or girl. See the film to find out who's won!

Music is cool. Though, there are few songs which personally I didn't like, but they are suitable in the film's mood. Though, there is a song about friendship, sung by Arijit, is extremely good. Also, the performance in that song makes it more delightful.

Sunny Singh has done his part fine. Nushrat is the girl who always hits the note! Her expressions, especially from smile to arrogance and arrogance to smile, are superb. Supportive cast is good.

There are two men in the film, who can make it watchable for couple of times, and they are- Kartik Aaryan and Alok Nath. No one can think even in dream that Alok Nath can deliver local gaalis. The drinking scenes, the kebab scenes, the conversations between Alok and Kartik- these are the scenes which uplift the film on the level it deserves to be. Hat's off to the casting director for making Alokji 'Ghazeete'. For Kartik, I would say that let's declare this man- Sexiest Youngster in India! Also, no one can pull off this role as he has done. He is going to be the next superstar who can act, and will definitely do for a very long time.

Camerawork is superb. Editing is sharp. Locations are beautiful. The film is colorful as well as grand in the scale. Dialogues are to the point and up to the mark. The war of words have been excellently written for both the characters (Sonu and Sweety). Every punch line has its own value, and people are shouting and cheering and clapping onto those lines. The 'Didi ne kaha' scenes were so funny that I am laughing now while writing about them. There was a group in my hall, which went mad in climax, and started cheering and shouting, as the delivery was superb by actors. I really liked The No Monologue climax, instead just few lines with great conviction. It gives strength to us too, as whatsoever happening there, is in the right mood and on the right track.

So, for showing the absolutely Right way through the film, and for the answer of the question, on which the film has been made, I would like to thank Luv Ranjan. This is by far his best film. And would like to watch this again and again.

Go for it guys. You will put it in your all time favorites. I found no objection in the film. It is sharp, quick, quirky, funny, light hearted, original, to the point, genuine, hilarious, and the best from Luv.

Good performances, enjoyable characters, disappointing conclusion

I'm not offering any spoilers, just a comment. I was very disappointed in the ending; I think that it should have turned out differently, no one really had to lose. I'm giving the entire film eight stars because of the performances and the various characters, but I'm not recommending the film because of what happened (or what didn't happen). I realize that this may make people feel that they have to see it just to see what I mean; sorry about that! But if you've seen it, care to weigh in?

Capsule Review: Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety

I remember in college we used to threaten our better-looking friends with friendship when it looked like they were spending more time with their love partners. It was all in good humor and we didn't mean all the sarcastic things we said literally. Luv Ranjan's Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is based on that same vein - where the bromantic relationship of two close buddies are threatened by the entrance of a lady who does not seem entirely normal or with good intentions. Something that I have previously seen in Siddique's 1999 Malayalam comedy film 'Friends' and Shajoon Kariyal's 2012 Malayalam comedy film 'Chettayees'. Ranjan's driving character is played by Kartik Aaryan who shot to fame with a monologue on girlfriends and romantic relationships that he delivered in one of Ranjan's earlier films. Aaryan repeats the style at least a dozen times in this comedy drama that takes a virulent turn very fast and very conveniently. Pearl-teethed Sunny Singh Nijjar's character is madly in love with the perfect woman, played with much finesse by Nushrat Bharucha, who he thinks is his soulmate. The only problem is that his buddy, Aaryan's character, thinks that she is too good to be true. And while there are enough reasons for one to think so, making a film on those assumptions as the crux is too ordinary. The issue here are the conflicts and their nature, neither of which are convincing enough. However, on the other hand, if you do appreciate comedies just because they make you laugh, then Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety will be a watchable affair. With three of the main cast members that we last saw in the Pyaar Ka Punchnaama duology, director Ranjan crafts a romantic comedy that can be described using words like 'sexist' and 'stereotypical', but hey, you already knew that. What you didn't know is the lack of sense in the film. Which is why Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is at best an average watch that is not too much worth your precious time in this time-starved world. TN.
