Football is everything, it is inside you - Brilliant movie.

Rise of the Footsoldier it's not only about football hooliganism, it is about your way of life with football violence inside you. But the most important message is that everything in your life depends of you, your way of life, your decisions, and maybe the border of your life - your friend environmental. Truly naturalistic movie, but with a lot of sense.

Pretentious tripe

This is a movie that is trying to be a gangster movie, same as "Snatch" or "Lock Stock and two smoking barrels".

This movie failed on all accounts.

Casting: Failure, especially for the lead.

Script: Failure, boring, clichéd drivel.

Directing: The movie was very badly directed and it was not even fit for a background noise. The gore and violence was very badly done.

Story-line: Non existent. It was very hard to watch the movie and the story-line was boring, clichéd and narration was just as boring, which was accompanied with flashes of violence, which did not contribute to the story at all. If anything, those fist fights were poorly made and timed too.

I am all for violent gangster movies and all. But it has to be part of the story and well made. In this movie it was just there for no good reason and it made the movie even more boring as it already was.

It's bad in a crap way

This film is as bad as they get. The title "Rise of the foot soldier" gives the impression its some sort of story about some criminal who is a fairly well known bad guy rising through the ranks of some organised crime syndicate. What you have in fact is a low order villain who makes some cash while working for a loosely connected group of drug dealing door minding crew of no real standing. The character portrayed does not rise anywhere as there is no organisation for him to rise within. He is a peripheral player within this group who would have remained unknown outside of Essex if they had not of been all shot dead in a execution style ambush by major league players. The story is no more of a story of any rising foot soldier and more to do with a infamous mass murder where he had a loose relationship with the victims. Absolute load of crap not worth watching.
