How I met Kate Mara :)

OK, so, I'm poking fun at Josh Radnor and his alter ego, Ted Mosby of HIMYM fame. But, that's kind of the point. This movie does feel like an extended episode of HIMYM, but with only one male member of the "main cast". It's like Ted Mosby wanted to "really be the main character", not simply a "story telling device". :)

So, don't expect the HIMYM type of comedy, as we don't have Barney Stinson nor Marshmallow, this movie's Lillypad is not a criminal mastermind and this movie's Robin is like the Robin of the first few episodes of HIMYM (before the guns, "Let's go to the mall" and stuff).

If you forget HIMYM, on its own, the movie is nice, funny and pretty naive, with a very positive "message". Which should not come as a surprise as Josh Radnor is the writer, director and main actor.

Don't expect many "great" jokes, but, there are quite a few good ones and the movie as a whole feels funny, which is more than most modern comedies achieve.

A Nice Movie for Saturday Evening at Home.

This movie was released in 2010. I have no idea where it has been hiding or why I have never heard of it. (All Huge Libraries like Netflics and VOD-Thank You) Anyway, there is a lot of out loud laughter and snickering caused by this movie. If I didn't know better I would think it was a "hall mark" except for the off-color words that get thrown around. (This is not a complaint) You can get yourself a bit dizzy over the character's interactions with each other. Since we are now old and not of the Saturday evening movie "Cuddling Group" anymore we discussed a lot of what was going on and made ourselves laugh even more. I really liked Malin Akerman, her happy attitude and outward effervesces was a real centered throughout the movie. Michael Algier's dead pan looks and is straight answers what he was asked made for humor and some very sad instances. Josh Radnor was the center of this movie. He was kind'a of a civilian "Sad Sack". Zoe Kazan and Kate Mara were, well I'd chase both through the streets of NYC. These Actors were spot on with their emotions and reactions to everything. There are no spoilers in this review because you really need to watch HAPPYTHANKYOUMOREPLEASE. and get your own opinions. I hope everyone takes the time to enjoy this movie.

Happythankyoumoreplease Review

Happythankyoumoreplease (2010) Starring: Josh Radnor, Malin Akerman, Kate Mara, Zoe Kazan, Pablo Schreiber, Richard Jenkins, Dana Barron, Jimmy Gary Jr., Michael Algieri, Jakob Appelman and Tony Hale Directed By: Josh Radnor Review GO GET YOURSELF LOVED Hello Kiddies your pal The Cupid Critic here on valentines Day, my most loneliest time of year. I hope you are reading this cause I want to know, How can I always try so hard to win a girls heart but fail either they have a boyfriend or leave the state. But why is it always me? I am a man who as a child met a friend( who was my substitute teacher) she taught me about love by showing it to me through her kindness, sweet smile and warmth. I've been a head over heels romantic ever since, and have tried to meet someone who reminds me of her so I can call them my wife. It's my dream to become a film critic and have a beautiful wife who reminds me of her. But this film has taught me one thing I can still no matter what Get Myself Loved(even if I'm still hung up on the past three hearts I've tried to steal) I will Get Myself Loved. On his Way to a meeting, aspiring novelist Sam Wexler(Radnor) finds Rasheen, a young boy separated from his family on the subway. When Rasheen refuses to be left with social services, Sam has learned the boy has been placed in six previous foster homes and agrees to let Rasheen stay with him. Dropped into Sam's chaotic bachelor lifestyle, Rasheen is introduced to Sam's circle of friends:Annie(Malin Akerman) who has a pattern of dating the wrong men, Mary-Catherine(Zoe Kazan) and Charlie(Pablo Schreiber) whose potential move to Los Angles threatens their relationship, and Mississippi(Kate Mara) an aspiring singer/waitress who tests Sam's fear of commitment. As Sam's unlikely friendship with Rasheen develops, he realize adulthood is not about waiting for the life you want, but simply stumbling ahead and making it happen along the way. I saw this film specifically for the writer, director and star of the picture Josh Radnor. I am a big fan of his because he has always played characters who have the same aspect of a romantic(Ted from How I met Your Mother) and someone who doesn't act or feel his age and is depressed(Jesse from Liberal Arts) characters I feel are a lot like me. I don't act my age because of my mentality, I am often depressed because I am a guy who is a head over the heels romantic but he never gets to show that side. The film was interesting because of it's ingenious inspiration of not just being man sees girl, girl falls for man and a tragedy happens. This is real love, it takes commitment. Characters are deep sadness with their lives and relationships but stick it through and try to listen and do what they can for the others who love them. I was very moved by Radnor's Akerman and Mara's performance they were a joy when they were on-screen. Radnor is a good director his next picture he made after this(Liberal Arts) may be better but this has it's own magical touch and he always likes to film in New York city and he makes it look amazing. Happythankyoumoreplease is a sharp comedy with deep characters, and deserves more recognition, I'm giving Happythankyoumoreplease a five out of five.
