This one of those movies that just radiates cool. Nic Cage is at his best, the soundtrack is outstanding, and the premise is unique. All of the characters are well cast and badass. Gone in 60 seconds is just a good time.

Cool
very likely to be gone from your memory in that amount of time
Just how many movies can there be in which an ex-con has to go in for one last shot? 'Cause that's what Memphis (Nicolas Cage) has to do to save his brother in "Gone in Sixty Seconds". If you're guessing that you've seen this plot before, you most likely have. Half a mo', did I say "plot"? Action flicks with A-list stars don't need no stinkin' plot! Just a lot of car chases. In this case, Memphis has to steal 50 cars in 72 hours or his brother is dead meat. Hmm...now will this cool dude, played by an Oscar-winning actor, be able to pull it off? Wait a minute. I haven't even mentioned the rest of the cast. But do I need to? Isn't it always the case that he assembles a ragtag team of misfits, including a tough woman (Angelina Jolie)? Anyway, there are lots of good movies out there, so why would you bother wasting your time on this? Maybe now that Angelina Jolie is a mother, she'll start making better choices about which movies she chooses. Maybe. Also starring Giovanni Ribisi, Will Patton, Delroy Lindo, Chi McBride, Robert Duvall, Christopher Eccleston and Vinnie Jones.
Highly Entertaining
A retired master car thief (Nicolas Cage) must come back to the industry and steal fifty cars with his crew in one night to save his brother's life.
I may not know much about cars and I know probably even less about stealing them, but this is a fun movie. A bit implausible, especially one scene with a car jumping a ramp and going like a quarter mile... but what fun, and what a great cast. Even Angelina Jolie, who is far from my favorite actress, is somewhat interesting here.
This must have been around the tail end of Cage's golden age of roles. I think he did a few more that were decent since then (both "Lord of War" and "Weather Man" are great), but this was probably the last big film he did before his downfall.
